Abstract:
In many industries, various types of machines and equipment have been used for various operations such as forging, hammering, cutting, etc. But different problems like low power supply, less manpower and also heavy labor, security etc. the operation carried out by this can be achieved using the power of the electric motor or manually by means of simple rotation of a hand lever fixed to the shaft and hammer action can be provided. If there is a good power supply, it can work automatically. For automatic operation AC motor is provided. Chain drive, belt drive and governor are also provided for speed control purposes so that proper speed can be achieved. When there is no electrical power supply, the advanced cam operated hammer can be used manually by simply turning the hand lever. Furthermore, handling is simple and maintenance is easy in the project.
INTRODUCTION
The advanced cam operated hammer is a device that can be used for multi-functional operations automatically or manually. It is mainly used for hammering workpieces. It can also be used for various purposes such as punching, forging, bending, etc. This advanced cam operated hammer is very essential for carrying out various operations like crushing, riveting, hammering larger parts and metal cutting.
As in the forging industry, the temperature of forging operation is much higher and it is very difficult to manually hammer the forged metal by hand or by hand and also there is always a risk when handling this kind of high temperature base metal or wok part. Therefore, the advanced cam operated hammer neglects this kind of problem in the industry.
GOALS
- The main objective of our project work is to reduce or neglect the defined problem and provide an idea to overcome various problems by manufacturing the concept and also the working model that represents a given solution to the existing problem.
- Therefore, our objective is to provide a mechanism driven by an electric motor so that the machine can perform operations with the help of electricity and automatically. The other objective is to provide manual handling of the accessory using a manual lever on the same model so that without power the operator can carry out the various hammering operations without interrupting or stopping the machine.
- Another objective of our project is to achieve a hammer impact on the workpiece using the effective shape of the Snail cam. So that the complicated mechanisms can be neglected and the system cost can be greatly reduced.
