DIFFERENTIAL GEARBOX DESIGN AND ANALYSIS – DOWNLOAD THE FULL REPORT
Abstract
Abstract
My Project “DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENTIAL GEARBOX” focuses mainly on the mechanical design and analysis of gearboxes as power transmission. I developed this work as my semester project with the vision of familiarizing myself with technologies as well as applying theories to practical work done by industries.
My project also contains gearbox design and material selection for different types of vehicles. For better efficiency, improving the power transmission rate is an important phenomenon.
Introduction
Gearboxes are used in almost every sector from energy to marine, and also include agriculture, textile, automobile, aerospace, shipping, etc. These gearboxes are constructed from a variety of materials depending on their end use and the type of industry in which they are used. The product has numerous industrial applications to provide high torque and smooth speed reductions. These reducers are also manufactured taking into account certain specifications, which also vary depending on the application.
Gearbox analysis
Functions of a gearbox
1. A gearbox is precisely drilled to control gear and shaft alignment.
2. It is used as a housing/container for gear oil.
3. It is a metal case to protect gears and lubricants from water, dust and other contaminants.
Single Differential Gearbox:
Bevel gearboxes are special speed reducers with their shafts perpendicular to each other and therefore mainly used in right angle applications. The gearbox is a right-angle gear type and is suitable for a right-angle solution with a low ratio. These gearboxes save more energy compared to worm gears and are available in varied gear ratios.
Materials used
- These gearboxes are constructed from a variety of materials. Some of the most used materials are
- The ratio of a bevel gearbox can be determined by dividing the number of teeth on the larger gear by the number of teeth on the smaller gear. These gearboxes generate varying levels of torque and can also be customized to meet individual requirements.
Differential gearbox design includes the following steps:
- Design of bevel gears according to speed and power transmission in kW.
- Bearing design
- Axis design
- Key design.
Differential gearbox analysis is provided in the report.
