About the cutting machine:

In the context of machining, a cutting tool or cutter is any tool used to remove material from the workpiece through shear deformation. Cutting can be carried out by single-point or multi-point tools. Single-point tools are used in turning, shaping, planing, and similar operations, and remove material by means of a cutting edge. Milling and drilling tools are often multi-pointed tools. Grinding tools are also multi-point tools. Each abrasive grain functions as a microscopic single-point cutting edge (albeit with a high negative angle of attack) and cuts a small chip.

Cutting tool materials must be harder than the material being cut and the tool must be able to withstand the heat generated in the metal cutting process.
