Strap locking plates , also called fixing plates, are used to fix the ends of the belt and obtain a rectilinear movement in addition to the classic rotary movement given by the pulleys that move the belts. They can be made from aluminum or steel and must have the correct tooth profile to evenly transfer the appropriate clamping force to the ends of the belts to be attached. They are available in different widths depending on the application needs.
Timing belts, used to transform the rotary movement of pulleys into the alternating rectilinear movement of tables or other devices, need
have their ends anchored in the moving or fixed parts of the parts to be moved. This fixing must be carried out carefully to prevent the strap from being damaged or weakened at the fixing point. This series of plates was therefore created to facilitate the correct locking of the straps on the respective anchors.
Ultimately, securing the belts by means of locking plates allows the rotary movement of the pulleys to be transformed into an alternating rectilinear movement.
