Concrete Tumbling Classes

The mass of the concrete reservoir is an indicator of the workability of the concrete. Concrete slump classes are used to indicate the applicable ranges of a slump and their acceptable deviations.

Concrete slump is checked when the concrete arrives at the construction site. Based on the acceptable criteria established in the mix composition, the settlement scale is checked before concreting.

BS 8500 provides detailed guidance for concrete slump classes.

Additionally, there are restrictions that may be different for each Slump class. The following figure from BS 8500 Part 1 shows the permitted limits.

A similar specification is used for flow testing. Let's look at the flooring classes according to BS 8500 Part 01.

As discussed above, there are also limits to flow classes.

See BS 8500 for more information.
