New Income Tax Refund opportunities: Federal Revenue releases consultation on the Residual Lot
Opening of consultation on the Residual Refund Lot
The Federal Revenue announced the opening of the consultation on the residual batch of Income Tax refunds for April 2024, starting at 10 am this Tuesday. This batch is aimed at taxpayers who have regularized their outstanding payments from 2023 or previous years and now have amounts to receive. The bank credit, scheduled for April 30th, will benefit 353,348 taxpayers, totaling R$457.7 million.
Priorities and Values Involved
Among those benefited, R$381.7 million will be allocated to groups with legal priority, including:
- Elderly people over 80 years old and those between 60 and 79 years old;
- Taxpayers with physical or mental disabilities or serious illnesses;
- Professionals whose main source of income is teaching.
Furthermore, 222,250 taxpayers who used the Pre-filled Declaration or chose to receive it via Pix, along with 70,474 non-priority taxpayers, are also included in this batch.
How to check the Refund?
Taxpayers can check the availability of the refund by accessing the Federal Revenue website, following the steps for detailed or simplified consultation of the status of the declaration. The e-CAC platform allows you to view the declaration processing extract and, if necessary, make corrections to correct inappropriate information.
Payment Methods
The refund will be deposited directly into the bank account indicated in the income statement or through a specified Pix key. If there are credit problems, such as a deactivated account, the amounts can be redeemed at Banco do Brasil for up to one year.
Procedures in Case of Non-Rescue
If the amount is not redeemed within one year, the taxpayer must request the refund through the e-CAC Portal, following the process indicated for refunds not withdrawn from the banking network.
Concluding the News
Opening the residual batch of Income Tax refunds for consultation represents an opportunity for many taxpayers to regularize their tax situation and receive any outstanding credits. This movement by the Federal Revenue highlights the commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in the refund process, providing more effective and fair tax management.
