Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a 4-year license program regulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the safety of aircraft, helicopters and other flying machines. They are specially trained to carry out complex maintenance processes, including periodic maintenance programs in accordance with the aircraft manufacturer's requirements and issuing Flight Clearance Certificate for safety before each flight. To perform this maintenance process and issue the Flight Clearance Certificate, an individual must undergo 2 years of approved training program at an approved institution and two years of OJT at any airline or MRO as per CAR 66 and CAR 147 requirements and get an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. License from DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY
Students who have passed/succeeded in group 10+2 (PCM) are eligible to apply for the program. Candidates for the 3-year polytechnic diploma are also eligible for the AME.
