Vishay Intertechnology announced that it has expanded its NTCS0603E3…..T and NTCS0805E3…..T series of automotive-grade glass-protected NTC thermistors in case sizes 0603 and 0805 with new electrical resistance values at +25°C ( R25 ). .
AEC-Q200 qualified devices are now available with lower R25 values of 1 and 1.5 kW, plus a new value of 5 kW optimized for protection of IGBT and power MOSFET modules in electric vehicles (EV) and electric vehicles hybrids (HEV).
Fully glass encased and shielded, the enhanced thermistors offer tolerances of up to ±1% for their R25 and beta (B25 /85 ), ensuring accurate temperature sensing, protection and compensation over a wide temperature range from -40° to +150°C.
Smaller than MELF resistors while offering easier mounting and greater flexural strength, the NTCS0603E3…..T and NTCS0805E3…..T series will be used in automotive buck and boost converters, LED modules and batteries, infrastructure EV charging, inverters for windmills and solar panels, as well as office equipment.
Featuring an SMD construction with NiSn terminations, NTC thermistors are suitable for wave or reflow soldering. RoHS compliant and halogen-free, the devices are delivered on perforated paper tape on reels in packs of 4,000.
