Since August 2023, more than 20 million tons of cargo, including 14.3 million tons of agricultural products, have been exported through the Ukrainian maritime corridor. The announcement was made by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, according to the ministry's website .
“In the six months of operation of the Ukrainian corridor, 661 ships exported more than 20 million tons of cargo to 32 countries,” the ministry said.
In January 2024, 6.3 million tons of products were exported from the ports of Greater Odessa, which is almost equal to the pre-war level. Until February 3, the ports expected the arrival of another 104 ships, which are expected to export more than 3 million tons of cargo.

Iron ore transshipment accounted for 5.9% of the total volume of cargo handled, or 1.9 million tons. The most dynamic growth of transshipment was observed in the Danube ports (Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk). Last year, the total volume of cargo at these ports almost doubled to 32 million tons, and in 2022 it will triple to 16.5 million tons, compared to 5.5 million tons in 2021. In particular, last year, the volume transshipment rate at the port of Izmail was 20.2. million tons (2.3-fold increase by 2022), and in Reni – 10.1 million tons (+47% y/y).
As previously reported, last December, the United Kingdom announced the creation of a maritime coalition to guarantee the safety of civil navigation and the operation of the Ukrainian corridor.
