During the month of January, Ukraine imported goods worth $5.1 billion and exported $3.4 billion.
In January 2024, Ukraine's trade turnover increased by 7% compared to January 2023 – to 8.5 billion dollars. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs.
In January, Ukraine imported goods worth $5.1 billion and exported $3.4 billion. At the same time, taxed imports amounted to 4.5 billion dollars, which represents 90% of the total volume of imported goods.
The countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods were: China – 1.1 billion dollars, Poland – 568 million dollars and Germany – 388 million dollars. Ukraine exported most of the goods to Poland – 334 million dollars, to Spain – 322 million dollars and to China – 305 million dollars.
In January 2024, the total volume of imported goods represented 67%:
- machinery, equipment and transport – US$ 1.9 billion;
- chemical industry products – US$868 million;
- food products – US$659 million.
The top three most exported products from Ukraine were food products – 2.2 billion dollars, steel products – 362 million dollars and mineral products – 312 million dollars.
23.7 million UAH was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
In 2023, Ukraine's trade turnover amounted to 99.4 billion dollars. In particular, the country imported goods worth US$63.5 billion and exported US$36 billion. Taxed imports amounted to 52.6 billion dollars, which represents 83% of the total volume of imported goods. The majority of imports were represented by machinery, equipment and transport (19.8 billion dollars), and exports were food products (21.8 billion dollars).
