During the period of the large-scale invasion, the company allocated more than 41 million UAH to support the army and population of Ukraine
Lemtrans, the largest private freight transport operator in Ukraine, paid UAH 929 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels of Ukraine in 2023. This is stated in the company's Press release.
In particular, 840 million UAH was transferred to the state budget and more than 88 million UAH to local budgets. The one-time social contribution (SSC) amounted to approximately 64 million UAH.
Furthermore, during the large-scale invasion, Lemtrans allocated more than 41 million UAH to support the army and population of Ukraine, as well as charitable projects. The company provided vehicles, quadcopters, Starlink terminals, bulletproof vests, stoves, etc.
Investments in the country's infrastructure and logistics projects amounted to more than 160 million UAH, including more than 153 million UAH in the terminal and container business.
“The development of the container terminal in Mostyska (a partnership project) continued and the decision was taken to start design work on two more new container terminals to be located in Ukraine. An investment program is also being implemented to further improve the efficiency and increase the productivity of wagon repair facilities», adds the company.
In the 12 months of 2023, the volume of scheduled and current repairs of freight cars in the Lemtrans workshop was 5.22 thousand units.
It is worth noting that the company's total transport volume last year was approximately 17 million tons of cargo. Coal accounted for 13.5 million tons, construction materials – 2.9 million tons and iron ore – 0.4 million tons.
“Yes, business still depends on the potential threat of destruction to frontline industry, logistical bottlenecks like ports and congestion at the EU border. However, despite the war, we do not stop and are focused on the development of Ukraine. Our investment activities were an important area of focus last year. We are investing in new infrastructure projects, such as the terminal and container business”, said Volodymyr Mezentsev CEO of the company.
As Compraço previously reported, in 2022, Lemtrans paid 1.3 billion UAH in taxes to budgets at all levels, including 1.2 billion UAH to the state budget and 95 million UAH to the local budget. 22 million UAH was allocated to help the army and population of Ukraine. Last year, the company transported 1.64 million tons of iron ore, while ferrous metals were transported in 480 thousand tons.
