Single row angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring races offset relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. Due to this conformation, they are suitable for supporting combined loads, that is, loads that act simultaneously in the radial and axial direction.
This type of bearing can support axial loads acting in one and only one direction, which is why a single row bearing is registered against a second bearing. These bearings are separable and their rings have an upper and a lower shoulder. The lower one allows a large number of balls to be integrated into the bearing, giving it a relatively high load capacity.
