As Galvanized Sheets With a zinc coating, it has what is called cathodic protection, a technique used to control corrosion. See its characteristics;

• Galvanized Sheet With a zinc coating, when intact, it prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying steel or iron.
• It acts as a sacrificial anode (maintaining metal equipment immersed in water in optimal condition), which is the main component of a system of galvanic cathodic protection Used to protect buried or submerged metals from corrosion. This means that if the coating is scratched, the exposed steel or iron will be protected by the remaining zinc.
• Zinc protects its base metal from corrosion before iron does.
