Safety and maintenance of guillotine shear

Safety and maintenance of guillotine shear

For safe operation, machines that use mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic devices are high-risk machine tools. Except for the maintenance tasks listed in this manual, other maintenance must be performed by professional maintenance personnel.

Maintenance of guillotine scissors

Daily maintenance:

  • Keep equipment clean and free from corrosion.
  • Check that the tool is sharp and free from wear and lightly lubricate it for maintenance.
  • Check whether the NC device is normal without alarm.
  • Check that all switch buttons are normal and not stuck.

Weekly maintenance:

  • Check that the hydraulic oil level is within the normal range.
  • Check the rear stop ball screw, lubricate it with grease once, and clean the dust and oil stains.
  • Check the rear retaining support bearing and add lubricating grease.
  • Check the slide guide rail and fill it with grease.
  • Check the water level in the filter pressure reducing valve and remove it in time.
  • Check easily worn parts and bearings without lubrication points and add oil for lubrication.

Monthly maintenance:

  • Check and clean the air filter and replace it if necessary.
  • Check the conductor and cable jacket for damage and insulation.
  • Check that signs and warning signs on equipment are clear and visible.
  • Check that the machine's anti-pinch device is intact and free of play.

Quarterly maintenance:

  • Check whether the ram boom adjustment is loose.
  • Check whether the rear stop positioning position error exceeds ±0.1 mm.
  • Check whether the air valve of the air circuit system acts flexibly.
  • Check all valve bodies, oil pipes and hydraulic system gaskets for leaks and blockages.
  • Check whether the electrical components inside and outside the electrical panel are worn, loose or have poor contact.

Semiannual maintenance:

  • Check and clean the oil pump inlet filter and replace if necessary.
  • Check the filter pressure reducing valve and air circuit system oil mist for cracks and air leakage.

Annual maintenance:

  • Clean the oil tank, oil pump inlet filter and add new hydraulic oil (replace every 2,000 hours or one year for the first time and every 4,000 hours or two years thereafter).

Tips for maintenance

  1. The machine must be under the responsibility of a designated person. The operator must read the manual and operating manual of the CNC system before operating the machine.
  2. When multiple people operate the machine, one person must be designated to start the machine. Only when it is confirmed that there are no safety risks can the pedal or button be pressed to avoid accidents.
  3. When placing the plate on the bench and positioning it with the rear stop, fingers must not be placed between the plate and the bench. Before the back stop reaches the positioning point, the metal sheet must not be pushed for positioning to avoid injury.
  4. When the machine is working, no tools or residues should be placed between the worktable and the knife edge, and there should be no defects such as welding scars on the surface of the workpiece to avoid damage to the blade.
  5. Shearing should be carried out strictly according to the thickness, material and width of the sheared plate, which can be automatically calculated by the NC system. Overloading is not allowed to avoid damage to the machine.
  6. Electrical insulation and grounding must be safe and reliable.
  7. Hydraulic system maintenance:
  • Regularly check the oil level in the oil tank. If insufficient, add clean, filtered hydraulic oil. The machine uses Yb (or YC) – N32 (or N46) hydraulic oil. The oil used for the first time must be cleaned and replaced with new oil after 2,000 working hours, and then replaced every 2 years or 4,000 working hours; Hydraulic oil will gradually age and deteriorate during use, and to a certain extent it must be replaced in time. Only in this way can we ensure the lubrication of all moving parts of the hydraulic system, reduce friction and wear, and ensure that the system can function normally for a long time.
  • One month after the machine is commissioned, the oil filter should be cleaned for the first time (cleaned and dried with gasoline or trichloroethylene) and then cleaned regularly every two months; In case of blockage (indicator light on) or oil pump screaming (oil pump empty), immediately clean the oil filter; If the oil filter is broken, replace it immediately.
  • The air filter installed on the oil tank cap must be cleaned regularly with gasoline or trichloroethylene. After two months of commissioning the machine tool, it should be cleaned for the first time, and then cleaned regularly every four months.
  • If the valve block leaks, please replace the sealing ring in time.
  1. Keep the machine clean and lubricated in time to extend the service life of the machine. During use, regularly check whether the fasteners of all mechanical parts are loose. If any abnormalities are found, stop the machine immediately for inspection and continue to use it after troubleshooting.
  2. Check regularly whether the knife edge gap is too large or too small. If there are any changes, adjust them immediately.
  3. Regularly check the sharpness of the blade edge. If the edge of the blade becomes dull, sharpen it in a timely manner.
  4. Carry out regular maintenance and maintain the accuracy requirements specified in the certificate after maintenance.
  5. The safety warnings listed in this manual are defined according to the foreseeable situation and are considered minimum requirements. Users can inform the manufacturer about actual and potential hazards.
