10 Essential Environmental Requirements for Laser Cutter

environmental conditions

1. Power supply specifications

The laser cutting machine requires a three-phase five-wire system with a 380V, 50Hz power supply. The total power load of the host should not exceed 15KVA, while the laser and chiller require 5KVA of power, with a 500W laser.

2. Powerful quality

The power supply must have a three-phase imbalance of less than 2.5% and line voltage fluctuations must not exceed 5%.

3. Grounding protection

A grounding stake must be installed on the side of the laser cutting machine and connected to the ground wire. In addition, the laser cutting machine must be connected to the power supply ground wire, with a grounding resistance of less than 4Ω.

4. Ventilation requirements

The location environment must have good ventilation conditions, without dust, corrosion or pollution.

5. Foundation installation

The foundation installation must not be exposed to large vibrations and a shock-proof trench must be excavated.

6. Temperature Requirements

The laser must be installed at an ambient temperature of 20ºC. Please refer to the instruction manual for more details on using the laser.

7. Chiller Specifications

The chiller is a special equipment used to provide cooling and water circulation to the lasers and lenses of the QBH cutting head. High quality pure water or distilled water should be used for cooling the circulating water.

8. Fire safety

Appropriate fire extinguishers must be available at the processing site and fire extinguishing channels must be reserved to prevent fire.

9. Machine placement

The left and rear sides of the machine must be 1.2 m or more apart. The back of the laser must be at a distance of 1.5M or more. The chiller and air compressor can be placed outdoors, but the laser must be placed within 4M.

10. Electromagnetic interference

The control unit, servo unit, display and control panel are the main parts of the laser cutting machine and require certain environmental conditions. Interference from electromagnetic waves caused by processes such as arc welding and EDM must be avoided to prevent machine malfunction.
