The era of mobile apps

65% of IT managers interviewed by Outsystems reported that it takes more than three months to develop a custom application. 11% of respondents reported that, for them, the time required extends to more than a year. Not surprisingly, this can create a significant delay and lead to considerable dissatisfaction among team leaders. Nearly half of respondents said they were dissatisfied with the current speed of their application development teams.

Long development times can be detrimental to an organization, especially in the mobile-first world we live in. A lengthy development process can cost you more money, cause your competitors to capture the market first, and even create frustration among stakeholders.

By hiring an outsourced development team, your organization can quickly iterate on your ideas and bring your app to market much faster. For modern organizations, following this lean methodology is essential for efficiency and eliminating waste in every way possible.

4. You don't have a budget for internal development

Mobile app development costs can add up quickly. While larger companies can easily absorb development costs, there are very few organizations with unlimited budgets. If an app isn't your organization's core product, but rather a complement to what you already offer, chances are you don't have the right infrastructure to start building apps internally right away. Investing in this infrastructure can be quite a task and it simply may not make sense.

Another cost to take into consideration is hiring new developers if your application is developed internally. The recruitment process, as well as training and onboarding any new hires, can be costly. For organizations on a limited budget, it can be much more cost-effective to simply outsource your AFPP development to a qualified development team, especially if ongoing mobile development is not your company's primary focus.

As with any outsourcing service, no two mobile app development teams are the same. It's important to find a team that meets your specific needs – just make sure they truly understand what you want to accomplish.
