STMicroelectronics recebeu pontuação 'A' pela transparência na segurança hídrica

STMicroelectronics scored 'A' for water security transparency

STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor supplier serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, has been recognized for leadership in corporate transparency and water security performance by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its annual 'A List'.

Based on data reported through CDP's 2022 water security questionnaire, ST is one of a small number of companies that achieved an 'A' grade – out of almost 15,000 companies assessed.

The full list of companies that made this year's CDP A List is available here.

CDP's annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. In 2022, more than 680 investors with more than $130 billion in assets and 280 large acquirers with $6.4 billion in acquisition expenses asked companies to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through the CDP platform. A record number of 18,700 companies responded.

A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to evaluate these companies, assigning a score from A to D- based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as goal setting ambitious and significant targets. Those who do not disclose or provide insufficient information receive an F grade.

“Inclusion on CDP’s Water List A is an important recognition of our continued focus on water-related risks and comprehensive management approach, including water stress assessment, recycling, efficiency and conservation programs,” said Rajita de Souza , President of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility. “ST continues to reduce our water footprint across all of our operations and locations, to address all water risks across our supply chain and territories wherever we operate, and to further develop our positive impact and support for communities.”

Sustainability has been fundamental to ST's business model and culture for over 25 years. ST continually reduces its water footprint, whilst maintaining the highest standards of treatment and control of wastewater before it is released into the environment. In 2021, water consumption per unit of production was reduced by 16% compared to 2020, in line with the target for 2025 to reduce water consumption by 20% compared to 2016.
