STMicroelectronics adiciona recursos avançados ao software TouchGFX 4.22

STMicroelectronics Adds Advanced Features to TouchGFX 4.22 Software

STMicroelectronics has released TouchGFX 4.22 user interface software with improvements that include advanced memory-saving image compression and integrated information sharing.

TouchGFX 4.22 automatically selects optimal compression for images and graphics, significantly reducing system memory requirements — and without compromising user interface performance or visual quality.

Applying L4, RLE or LZW9 algorithms to items expressed in the efficient L8 format, supported by TouchGFX and the STM32 Chrom-ART accelerator, achieves a compression factor of 20% to 99%. Compression settings can be adjusted individually in TouchGFX Image Manager.

This new, easy-to-use feature allows designers to choose lower-density flash ICs for user interface controller hardware and therefore reduce the bill of materials for their applications.

The second change in TouchGFX 4.22 is Live Callouts, where the TouchGFX team will quote tips and tricks, specific features or opportunities to get the user's attention directly within the TouchGFX Designer environment.

TouchGFX is freely available and simple to start using, as part of the STM32 microcontroller development ecosystem. Highly regarded for keeping the developer in control, it is also recommended for improved user interface performance on STM32 MCUs by leveraging the MCUs' hardware graphics capabilities, including Chrom-ART and NeoChrom GPU accelerators.

TouchGFX 4.22 is now available for download at st.com/touchgfx.
