Robô ASIMO

ASIMO Robot

Robots, the supposed concept that has been demonstrated a million times in movies, comes to life with Honda's brilliant effort. ASIMO or Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility is a next-generation humanoid robot created by Honda in the year 2000. Intended to be a multi-functional portable assistant, ASIMO is designed to function in real-world environments. The creation of ASIMO was designed to help bedridden or disabled people. ASIMO outperforms humans in tasks that can be devastatingly dangerous for them, for example entering dangerous areas, putting out fires or defusing a bomb. ASIMO's membership remained purely welcoming and friendly.

The era of the existence of robots has been a topic of continuous debate and has invited numerous advantages and disadvantages of the reality of robots but Honda with its first creation proved that robots can operate Honda with the joint efforts of its eccentric robotics research and development team, successfully launched ASIMO after 20 years of consecutive hard work. Following the trail, the ASIMO team continues to excel and refine their wonderful creation. Below are the ASIMO settings:

Height: The smart masterpiece stands at a height of 4 feet 3 inches and weighs around 48 kg, making it a welcoming robot. The ASIMO's medium height marks it as a comfortable conversation participant with seniors and people with less mobility. Its comfortable height makes it a perfect size to assist with household chores and for people confined to bed or in wheelchairs.

Skills: ASIMO was launched with the purpose of meeting the needs of the elderly and disabled, as well as managing household chores. ASIMO has human characteristics, as it can make gestures, speak and interact like humans, which makes it a friendlier robot. ASIMO has the ability to detect the movements of numerous objects while capturing fantastic shape and adapting well to human environmental conditions.

ASIMO Configuration:

ASIMO was created after governing the center of gravity, successfully emulating human walking and analyzing torque requirements. Honda, with the joint efforts of its eccentric robotics research and development team, successfully launched ASIMO after 20 years of consecutive hard work. Following the trail, the ASIMO team continues to excel and refine their wonderful creation. Below are the ASIMO settings:

  2. Skills: ASIMO was launched with the aim of meeting the needs of the elderly and disabled, as well as managing household chores. ASIMO has human characteristics, as it can make gestures, speak and interact like humans, which makes it a friendlier robot. ASIMO has the ability to detect the movements of various objects while capturing visual information through the camera's eyes. The determination of direction and distance is also done by the two eyes of the ASIMO camera. ASIMO's previous capabilities allow for human-like capabilities.

  3. Movement: ASIMO is performed in medium walking at a speed of 2.7 kilometers per hour. Considering running speed, ASIMO can run at an average speed of about 9 kilometers per hour. ASIMO's movements are managed by controlling the Zero Moment Point, as well as controlling the ground reaction that allows ASIMO to stay firmly in a certain position and maintain it in a healthy way. Body position, step length and speed are adjustable by ASIMO. ASIMO's hands, legs, waist, and neck have varying degrees of movement. The degree of freedom is defined specifically for each robot and, to better understand it, ASIMO has 57 degrees of freedom. ASIMO's fundamental body parts such as the wrist, shoulder, hip joints and neck individually have about three degrees of freedom, while hands with one thumb and four fingers have two degrees of freedom.

To determine obstacles, ASIMO has visual sensors. In total, ASIMO has sensors that help it with autonomous navigation. The bottom of ASIMO has an infrared sensor and a laser sensor. The infrared sensors help ASIMO determine ground patterns to confirm the strategic map navigation path, while the laser sensor helps ASIMO detect the ground surface.

Other ASIMO specifications:

  1. Battery: The ASIMO runs on a lithium-ion battery that is attached to your backpack and it takes 3 hours to fully charge the ASIMO. The battery weighs around 6 kg.

  2. Operating time: ASIMO can run or walk successfully for a good hour.

  3. Languages: ASIMO specializes in English and Japanese.

The most recent version of ASIMO was released in 2011 and came installed with more modified sensors and more balancing powers than previous incarnations. ASIMO's latest update comes with dexterous hands and refined touch sensors. To conclude, artificial intelligence was born brilliantly in the current generation with a living example, ASIMO, which currently gives lectures and teachings in several colleges. ASIMO was present at Disneyland and also at NASA, which makes ASIMO a star of all worlds and other parallel worlds.

The verdict:

The level of technology used and years of intense research have made ASIMO a state-of-the-art creation. Sky is the cap on ASIMO's cost, which makes it only accessible to celebrities or the government. Well, now we all wait for ASIMO to be present in public and private hospitals and in homes to assist the elderly and those in need. Although due to its star value and its normal construction cost, the era of an ASIMO in every home is still years away.
