Another breathtaking crossover concept car, the Peugeot SXC showcases technologies and design features that would be used by future Peugeot models. The concept intelligently combines several aspects of the SUV, including driving position, strength, refinement levels, modern styling and protection. Originality and innovation are kept in mind when designing the concept car – be it the taillights or the roof rails, the car has an elevated design. The front part of the SXC comes with new styling codes. The unusual floating grille was designed to give the impression of being detached from the bodywork.
The concept also features reverse-hinged doors and 22-inch wheels. The hood of the car, which is heavily sculpted, adds a dramatic effect to the face of the car, while the lightweight material – brushed aluminum used adds exclusivity to the car. The Peugeot SXC uses hybrid technology with a combustion engine built into the front and an electric motor at the rear, which promises grip and safety even in extreme conditions. The model also allows driving at low speeds in emission-free mode with electric motor support. The concept features several styling cues that have been witnessed on Peugeot's latest concepts, including the HR1, EX1 and SR1. Choosing the best of features from all three models, the SXC is undoubtedly one of its kind.
This concept car looks tastier compared to the new Mitsubishi Outlander. The car smartly adopts the pug family look with scalloped flanks, more aerodynamic slanted headlights and sleek appearance compared to its predecessors.
The company is planning to launch the diesel-electric hybrid version (3008 Hybrid4) first. It is expected to make its debut in October 2011 for around £26,660. The next one that will be launched in the spring of 2012 is the 508 hybrid4. The futuristic concept car would certainly transform the driving experience upon its launch.
