O novo amplificador duplo de alta saída da STMicroelectronics oferece circuitos simplificados

STMicroelectronics' new high-output dual amplifier offers simplified circuitry

The STMicroelectronics TSB582 high-output dual amplifier simplifies circuitry to drive inductive and low-ohmic loads such as motors, valves, and rotary resolvers in industrial applications and automotive systems such as drive-by-wire and automated parking.

The TSB582 operates from 4 to 36 V supplies and contains two operational amplifiers (op amps), each capable of sinking/supplying up to 200 mA.

This allows direct connection of a load in bridge mode, allowing one TSB582 to replace two single-channel power op-amps or high-current drivers constructed from discrete components. By integrating two op amps in one package, the TSB582 can save up to 50% board space and reduce bill of materials.

Available in industrial and automotive-grade versions, the TSB582 serves applications such as movement and position control of robots, conveyor belts and servo motors. Automotive applications include engine position sensing, including steer-by-wire and electric traction engines, as well as wheel rotation tracking in autonomous driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles.

The TSB582 comes with internal short-circuit and overheat protection, has rail-to-rail outputs, and operates with a gain bandwidth of up to 3.1 MHz (GBW). Both industrial and automotive grade versions are qualified for a temperature range of -40° to 125° C, are hardened against EMI, and provide ESD robustness up to 4kV HBM.

There are two packaging options, each with low thermal resistance: an SO8 with an exposed thermal pad and a DFN8 3 x 3mm with an exposed pad and wettable sides. Wettable flanks assist with post-welding inspection to meet automotive quality assurance requirements. The DFN8 3mm x 3mm package is now available at an industrial level.

The automotive class equivalent and SO8 package in both classes will be released in Q3 2022.
