Kyocera offers new vertical vertical contacts

KYOCERA AVX, a global manufacturer of advanced electronic components, has launched the new 9296-11X STRIPT series poke-home through-board vertical contacts for 12–18AWG wires.

The new 9296-11X Series Vertical Board Contacts further expand the company's portfolio of easy-to-use poke-home contacts and connectors. This addition brings the total portfolio to 10 series, two of which — this series and the 9296-000 series contacts — can now support larger wire gauges and higher current ratings.

KYOCERA AVX STRIPT poke-home contacts are UL approved single contact solutions that offer equivalent or improved performance compared to full connector solutions, but are more economical due to the lack of an insulator, which saves material costs. Their economic performance extends to harsh industrial environments, where they have been field proven for over 10 years.

The insulator-less poke-home STRIPT contact design features high-strength dual-beam box contacts that reliably capture solid and stranded wires, provide maximum wire retention strength, and exhibit robust mechanical stability. It also offers space and/or board height savings and supports flexible board positioning, which can be advantageous for today's high-density electronics designs.

The new 9296-11X Series STRIPT vertical poke-home contacts have a surface mount plate construction equipped with pure tin-plated phosphor bronze housing contacts. This construction allows users to quickly, easily and reliably terminate 12–18AWG solid or stranded wires by simply pushing the wire into contact.

The 9296-11X Series is rated for up to 20A, 300VACrms or DC equivalent and operating temperatures ranging from -40° to +130°C and complies with UL 1977 safety standards and the RoHS directive to support broad suitability of applications.

They are ideal for applications such as machine controls such as motors, drives, solenoids, sensors, batteries, fans and pumps; commercial building controls, security and fire alarms and sensors; LED luminaires, signage and public lighting; and household appliances such as vacuum cleaners and steam cleaners, washing machines and dryers.
