Keysight Technologies is expanding its FieldFox portfolio with the new FieldFox N9912C portable analyzer, a software-defined radio frequency (RF) test platform that offers field engineers more than 20 vector network analyzers (VNA), cable and antenna testers (CAT) and spectrum analyzers (SA) options for updating and downloading.
Field engineers perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot RF, microwave, and millimeter wave (mmWave) systems. During their work, they need to accurately measure a variety of devices or signals, including cables, antennas, and over-the-air (OTA) signals, to ensure robust signal quality and uninterrupted service.
To make all these crucial measurements in the field, engineers need a variety of expensive networks, spectrum analyzers, and flexible equipment that can meet emerging test and measurement challenges.
Keysight's FieldFox N9912C portable analyzer addresses this challenge by allowing engineers to mix and match software applications for their specific analysis needs in a single portable device. As a truly software-defined instrument, the FieldFox N9912C is fully upgradable with maximum frequencies activated by license key, analyzer types, bandwidths and software applications.
The new FieldFox C model, with coverage of up to 10 GHz, offers the following benefits:
- Mix and match options – Provides unmatched flexibility to create the right combination of VNA, CAT and SA tools for any project requirements, with over 20 downloadable software applications and license key-activated frequency and bandwidth options . Additionally, maximum frequency coverages for any analyzer type are extendable to any existing N9912C, prompting an upgrade option.
- Pay only for what you need – Optimizes investment in field instruments, allowing engineers to choose only the features they need for their work in the field.
- Save time in the field with a single handheld device – Eliminate the need to change instruments with a single, rugged, handheld analyzer that can be quickly customized as testing needs evolve.
- High-performance analysis – Provides accurate, comprehensive spectrum and network analysis up to 3 kHz and up to 10 GHz to test and troubleshoot a wide range of wireless and high-frequency applications.
“When engineers are in the field, they need flexible test solutions that can meet challenges in real time,” said Vince Nguyen, vice president and general manager of Keysight's Aerospace, Defense and Government Solutions Group. “With the truly software-defined FieldFox-C, engineers can quickly respond to new needs with a single portable analyzer that can be easily configured via software license keys that span frequency ranges, multiple analyzer types, and other applications of software.”
