Infineon Technologies announced its new PSoC 4100S Max family. It features expanded Flash memory and general-purpose inputs/outputs (GPIO) for next-generation human-machine interface (HMI) applications to support fifth-generation CAPSENSE touch sensors.
Available in 7×7, 10×10 and 14×14 mm² packages, the PSoC 4100S Max with CAPSENSE technology is ideal for industrial control, automotive HMI, home automation and large household appliances – including robotics, inductive sensors, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, smart thermostats and printers.
The Infineon PSoC 4100S Max includes up to 384K of Flash memory – the largest PSoC 4 Flash memory in its class – up to 84 GPIOs, CAN-FD, high-speed long-range wired communication and I²S master for fully embedded audio solutions.
New features also include dual fifth-generation CAPSENSE blocks, which offer differentiated HMI and touch detection solutions. Next-generation Infineon PSoC devices also include a cryptographic accelerator for fast and efficient cryptographic functions for a more secure interface for the touch user interface applications of the future.
“Infineon is a leading provider of capacitive touch solutions. The PSoC 4100S Max with next-generation CAPSENSE is the best yet with self-capacitance and mutual sensing for multiple touchscreen features,” said Steven Tateosian, Vice President of IoT, Computing and Wireless Business Unit, Infineon . “This next-generation product offers industry-leading touch sensing with scalability while reducing the overall bill of materials for designer boards. Additionally, this family offers industry-leading signal-to-noise ratios in some of the harshest touch detection environments.”
Compatible with Infineon's latest ModusToolbox 3.0 development platform, the devices enable developers a unique experience for a variety of use cases, including consumer IoT, automotive HMI, industrial, smart home, wearable and other applications.
In addition to PSoC 4, Infineon ModusToolbox 3.0 is also compatible with embedded applications that use Infineon products, including PSoC 6, XMC, AIROC Wi-Fi, AIROC Bluetooth and EZ-PD PMG1 microcontrollers.
