Sentry Enterprises, a technology-based company focused on transforming what identity means in the physical and digital worlds, has selected Infineon's next-generation SLC37x Secure Element chip family to power its biometric platforms.
Sentry Enterprises is the creator and developer of the SentryCard biometric platform, a privacy-centric identity proofing solution, along with the soon-to-be-launched Sentinel biometric cold storage crypto wallet. Sentry's identity platform competes horizontally across security, payment and encryption sectors, as well as other market segments.
Sentry is finalizing its next-generation “universal identity platform” that incorporates biometric hardware, a next-generation card operating system, as well as integrated mobile applications and back-end systems.
The focus of this platform is to provide solutions that address today's security vulnerabilities while positioning for the future of Web 3.0 and self-sovereign identity applications.
“Our expertise in biometric solutions has proven to be the essential foundation for building a leading global identity ecosystem,” said Mark Bennett, CEO of Sentry Enterprises. “Collaborating with Infineon to integrate the SCL37x Secure Element into the SentryCard and Sentinel biometric platforms provides the perfect balance between performance, power and uncompromising security.”
Sentry uses Infineon security controllers, certified with CC EAL 6+ security level, and designed for digital identity use cases such as electronic passports, physical access cards, physical tokens, and more for secure identification and authentication. Infineon is pleased to collaborate with Sentry to bring safer, more innovative and convenient solutions to the market.
“There is no doubt that privacy-centric biometric solutions will play a critical role in the emerging security, identity and encryption markets,” said Arnaud Moser, senior director, Americas, smart cards and IoT security at Infineon. “We believe Sentry is the first commercially scalable player in this space and we are delighted that they have chosen Infineon’s SLC38 Secure Element to power their platform.”
Sentry's biometric platform provides a critical element missing in today's highly connected world – absolute user-controlled proof of identity that readily integrates into the world's existing infrastructure. Establishing absolute proof of identity and trust is critical to protecting critical infrastructure, corporate and government assets, as well as the rapidly growing cryptocurrency markets.
