Gerenciamento de segurança cibernética automotiva da Renesas com certificação ISO/SAE

Renesas automotive cybersecurity management with ISO/SAE certification

Renesas Electronics Corporation, a provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, announced that its automotive cybersecurity management system (CSMS) used for the development of microcontrollers (MCU) and systems on chips (SoCs) has been defined and implemented in accordance with the international standard ISO/SAE 21434:2021.

The CSMS framework applies to the Renesas design center in Musashi, Japan, and has been certified by TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH in accordance with the following.

  • Automotive CS Management (TÜV Rheinland)
    • ISO/SAE 21434 – Automotive grade supplier
    • ACSM (Automotive Cyber Security Management) 112: ML2: Managed

The certification reaffirms Renesas' commitment to customers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that Renesas will continue to fulfill its CSMS responsibilities and help automobile manufacturers obtain vehicle type approval as part of the recent regulation UNR155 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

All Renesas automotive MCUs and SoCs that were developed after January 1, 2022 will sequentially follow this ISO/SAE 21434:2021 certified CSMS development process. This includes the company's 16-bit RL78 and 32-bit RH850 MCUs, as well as its popular R-Car SoC family.

“With this certification, validated by an independent third party, customers can be confident that our CSMS process management is meeting the requirements defined by ISO/SAE 21434:2021,” said Takashi Yasumasu, Vice President of the Core Technology Division. Renesas HPC. . “OEMs and Tier1 suppliers can simplify their vehicle type-approval process by using this independent third-party certification, rather than performing their own audits of our process.”

Renesas has made significant contributions globally to the development of the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 standard. Renesas' commitment and dedication to cybersecurity extends beyond the automotive industry.

In 2019, Renesas was certified by TÜV Rheinland as complying with the IEC 62443-4-1 standard, which specifies process requirements for the safe development of industrial products.

Renesas continues to develop safe and secure products for its customers. The ISO/SAE21434:2021 certification is the latest addition to Renesas' achievements, following the company's long history of complying with ISO 26262 in automotive MCUs and SoCs. Customers can be assured that when using Renesas MCUs and SoCs for next-generation automotive systems, they will comply with international product cybersecurity and functional safety standards.
