Diodes Incorporated has added to its power management product portfolio with the introduction of a new series of low dropout (LDO) voltage regulators.
The new DIODES AP7387 devices are used in applications including cordless vacuums, smoke detectors, power tools and numerous other household appliances.
The devices have an input voltage range that varies from 5 to 60 V, which gives them the flexibility to be connected to 5, 9, 12, 24 and 48 V buses. With a quiescent current of just 2µA – which is significantly lower than competing devices – these LDOs have minimal battery resource consumption.
As a consequence, the operational runtime of the equipment with which they are integrated can be extended.
Despite drawing just 2µA of current, the AP7387 series has a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 70dB at 1kHz, plus a fast line/load transient response that helps mitigate sudden changes in input voltage and charging current. Both attributes make them suitable for noise-sensitive implementations.
AP7387 devices are rated at 150mA output current and are available in 3.0, 3.3, 3.6 and 5V fixed output voltage versions with ±2% output tolerance. Current limit, short circuit, and thermal shutdown protection mechanisms have been incorporated to improve device and system robustness.
Furthermore, they meet the electrostatic discharge requirements of 4kV human body model.
