Heineken and its contribution to Rio Grande do Sul

Heineken, a well-known beverage manufacturer, is standing out in its social role by transforming its mobile draft beer station into a drinking water distribution point for the population affected by the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul. This solidarity action comes at a time crucial, where the region faces challenges arising from the floods that devastated cities, leaving a trail of destruction and impacting the lives of thousands of people.

A necessary initiative

With the partnership established with the Civil Defense, Heineken began its operations on Wednesday (8), and since then has made drinking water available through its mobile draft beer station. This station moves according to people's needs and ease of access, demonstrating the company's flexibility and agility in meeting the emergency demands of the affected population.

The strategic location

On Thursday (09), the station remained located at Av. Fernando Ferrari, 400 – Vila Regina, Cachoeirinha/RS. Constant replenishment of the draft beer station is being carried out at the Igrejinha brewery, thus ensuring the continuous supply of drinking water to the community.

The volume of aid

In addition to water distribution, Heineken is transferring part of the volume of Schin water, produced at the Alagoinhas brewery, in Bahia, to Rio Grande do Sul. More than 300 thousand liters of water have already been directed, and the company is committed to maintain this mobilization for as long as necessary, reinforcing its commitment to the well-being of the local population.

Social and Humanitarian Commitment

Through the Heineken Institute, the company is directing financial resources to Visão Mundial, a non-governmental organization specializing in humanitarian aid. World Vision will donate emergency items to help the population affected by the floods, thus demonstrating Heineken's commitment to social and humanitarian responsibility.

Support for employees

Heineken is also offering support to its employees and family members who reside in the state, releasing a donation package that includes basic food baskets and hygiene kits, as well as expanded benefits. This action demonstrates the company's care and concern for its employees and their families during this difficult period.

Heineken's attitude in making its mobile draft beer station available as a drinking water distribution point for those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul is commendable. It shows not only a concern for the local community, but also a real commitment to helping in times of crisis.

For other companies wanting to help in natural disasters or humanitarian crises, there are several ways to contribute:

  1. Cash Donations: Contribute to local organizations, NGOs or governmental organizations that are on the front lines of assisting victims.
  2. Donations of Products or Services: Make essential products available, such as water, non-perishable food, hygiene and cleaning products, or even services that can help with reconstruction, such as specialized labor.
  3. Volunteering: Encourage employees to volunteer in affected areas, offering time and skills to help with rescue and relief operations.
  4. Community Awareness: Using your platform to raise awareness and mobilize others to help, whether through donations or volunteering.
  5. Support for Affected Employees: Provide emotional and financial support to employees who have been affected by the crisis.

These are just a few ways companies can contribute in times of crisis. The important thing is to act with empathy and solidarity, looking for concrete ways to help communities in need.

Concluding

Heineken's role as a drinking water distribution point and its mobilization in helping Rio Grande do Sul in the face of floods show not only the company's solidarity, but also its commitment to the well-being of the communities in which it operates. This initiative is an example of how companies can make a difference in times of crisis, contributing to the reconstruction and support of affected communities.
