Oil and gas company Enauta has confirmed that the floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Atlanta has begun sailing towards its final location in the Atlanta Field in the Santos Basin off the coast of Brazil.

After completing the activities in Dubai and sea trials, the unit departed for Brazil, with an estimated travel time of 45 days, which may vary depending on sea conditions.

As soon as the platform arrives at its location, work will begin on anchoring and connecting the submarine systems, according to Enauta.

“This is another important step, which marks the successful completion of the adaptation phase of the FPSO Atlanta, aiming to deliver the project on time and within budget. There were more than 9 million hours worked, without incidents, which demonstrates the highest level of safety standards on the part of the team that worked on adapting the ship", said Vinícius P., Executive Manager of Atlanta Deployment.

The FPSO Atlanta, supplied by Yinson Production from Malaysia, deployed in Enauta's Atlanta field, with an oil production set with six producing wells.

It has the capacity to process 50 thousand barrels of oil and 140 thousand barrels of water per day, and store 1.6 million barrels of oil.

In September 2023, Enauta began installation work on Phase I of Atlanta, which will bring a higher capacity FPSO to the field that has so far been producing oil through the FPSO Petrojarl I.

First oil from FPSO Atlanta is scheduled for August 2024, in line with the initial project schedule, the company said.
