Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini has announced a new climate commitment, targeting a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions “per car” across its entire value chain by 2030.

The new commitment follows Lamborghini's 2021 launch of its environmental sustainability strategy, “Direzione Cor Tauri”, which focused on its roadmap for the electrification of its product line and the decarbonization of its production unit and headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The company launched its first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) hybrid super sports car last year, and its electrification goals include the introduction of its first all-electric model in 2028 and an all-electric SUV in 2029, aiming for a reduction in 50% on the fleet. CO2 emissions by 2025 and 80% by 2030.

With the new ambition, the company extends its program to its entire value chain, including its supply and logistics chain and the product use phase.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said:

“The Direzione Cor Tauri is our roadmap for the electrification of the Lamborghini range and the path to decarbonization, not just of our Sant'Agata Bolognese facilities, but of the entire value chain: it is a holistic approach to our global environmental sustainability.”

In addition to its electrification measures, the company has outlined a series of initiatives aimed at reducing value chain emissions and improving environmental sustainability, including reducing energy and water consumption, implementing a sustainability rating system for suppliers and the increasing transfer of finished vehicle transport to rail transport. and away from air transport.
