DRAWING APPLICATION
Depending on the application, drawn tubes may require subsequent drawing after the extrusion process.
- a requirement for a high degree of dimensional control and the need for tight tolerances,
- where the final outside diameter and wall thickness of extruded tubes can only be achieved by subsequent cold drawing,
- where the final mechanical properties for non-heat-treatable alloys must be obtained by strain hardening (stretching),
- where there are special requirements for the microstructure of the tubes.
- mechanical characteristics can only be achieved by cold working for alloys that cannot undergo heat treatment (1000, 3000, 5000 series alloys)
- according to special requirements regarding the tube's grain structure

Most importantly, the use of cold drawn steel tubes can also significantly improve the quality of these products. In the treatment process, if you want to get a smaller and better quality seamless pipe, you have to use cold rolling, cold drawing, or a combination of both. Cold rolling is generally carried out in a mill at two heights, and the steel tube is wound into a ring-shaped passageway consisting of a circular hole with variable groove section and a stationary conical head. Cold drawing is usually done on a one or two chain cold drawing machine from 0.5 to 100T.
If any of these requirements are required, one or more controlled design steps will be performed after extrusion. Through a series of various drawing operations, very small wall thicknesses (0.5 mm) can be obtained. If necessary, the cold working effects of the design process can be reversed by heat treatment, known as annealing. The drawing and annealing cycle can be repeated many times to reach final dimensions. Cold drawing can be applied to both seamless extruded tubes and extruded tubes. All commercially available aluminum alloys and high strength aluminum alloys can be processed using the cold drawing process.
DRAWING DEFINITIONS
Some of the cold drawn steel pipe products are cold rolled high grade carbon steel seamless pipe. This series of steel tubes is mainly made of No. 10, No. 20, No. 35 and No. 45 steel, except to ensure the chemical composition and mechanical performance must be done outside of hydraulic testing, burning, flattening and testing. .
With the actual application of the situation being analyzed, the use of cold drawn steel tubes has been quite extensive.Generally, seamless pipe is laminated with carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel and has the highest efficiency. It is mainly used as a pipe or structural part to transport the fluid. Special purpose seamless hoses include seamless boiler hoses, seamless hoses for geological use and seamless hoses for oil.
Depending on the different uses of cold drawn steel tubes, it can be divided into different supply methods. The first is based on chemical composition and mechanical properties; the second is based on mechanical properties; the third concerns hydrostatic tests. Of these, cold drawn steel tubes supplied according to the first two types can be used to resist the pressure of the liquid, hydrostatic testing is also required.
