SYNOPSIS

The wood crushing process is an important part of waste collection industries. Typically, wood crusher machine is manually operated for wood waste collection industries. In our project is “Motorized wood chipper”.

Automation in the modern world is inevitable. Any automatic machine intended for the economic use of man, machine and material is worth more. In our project, pneumatic actuator and control valve unit for automation are used. The motorized wood chipper works with the help of a high-torque AC motor. The AC motor is connected to the gear arrangement. It is used to press wood waste in wood industries and agricultural fields. The machine is portable and easy to carry. India being one of the largest timber industries, there is a lack of technology in the processing industry. Until now, there were many techniques involved in crushing wood waste. But most of them involved lead to failure. Even now, the basic conventional process is being followed. Most of them are not aware of the importance of processing industry in India. Some projects have been conceived in recent times, but the required target has not been achieved. The traditional way of crushing wood was done manually. Today, wood crushing remains an untold misery for coconut farmers and sellers due to high demand and labor cost.

INTRODUCTION

This is an era of automation where automation is broadly defined as the replacement of manual effort by mechanical energy at all degrees of automation. Operation continues to be an essential part of the system, albeit with changing demands on physical resources as the degree of mechanization increases.

Agriculture is the potential area that should be automated and can be applied in activities such as irrigation, harvesting, filling, weeding, etc. Our project aims to automate the wood waste crushing process using some purely mechanical thinking. This machine is specifically designed to grind pieces of wood using rotating tips to penetrate and engage effectively. The interaction of the rollers in combination with the grasping action of the spike serves to strip the shell of the nut, leaving it intact.

PROJECT'S GOAL

The processing industry in the field of agriculture has a growing scope in the market. The use of by-products also plays a key role in the processing industry. To focus on the study carried out, the wood chipper remains unsolved due to failures. This project is a prototype of a wood crusher where all factors are considered such as:

WORKING PRINCIPLE

As power is supplied to the engine, it acts as a driver with 1440 rpm and drives the gearbox. From the gearbox the speed is reduced to 28 rpm, which in turn supplies power to the shaft. A ring gear is introduced to distribute power equally to all rotating axes of the blades.

The ring gear is fixed by surface contact on which the pinion gears are mounted. The shaft remains as support for the hole system.
