SYNOPSIS

In our project “ MATERIAL DIMENSION ANALYSIS ROBOT WITH LOAD CELL” beings with introduction to material inspection, there are several applications. Sensors are used to measure the dimensions of the material and this signal is given to the Control Unit.

The control unit gives the appropriate signal to the pneumatic cylinder. The pneumatic cylinder is used to collect materials of inadequate dimensions. Inspection conveyor is very useful for material handling in modern engineering industries. The engine is used to drive the conveyor. Materials are transferred from one location to another using a conveyor. In this upper part of the conveyor, sensors are used to measure the dimension. This system provides smooth operation and smooth belt movement for jobs when needed.

This is a very efficient instrument for checking dimensions like length, width, height etc. to be used in modern engineering industries. Manual efforts can be completely avoided with the use of this modern equipment. It also reduces inspection time and manual inspection errors. If the part is defective, the pneumatic cylinder placed close to the sensor will be activated to remove the defective part.

INTRODUCTION

This is an era of automation where automation is broadly defined as the replacement of manual effort by mechanical energy at all degrees of automation. Operation continues to be an essential part of the system, albeit with changing demands on physical resources as the degree of mechanization increases.

Automation can be achieved through computers, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, etc. From these sources, pneumatics constitute an attractive means for low-cost automation. The main advantages of all pneumatic systems are economy and simplicity. Automation plays an important role in mass production.

For mass production of the product, machining operations decide the machining sequence. Machines designed to produce a particular product are called transfer machines. Components must be automatically moved from boxes to multiple machines sequentially and the final component can be placed separately for packaging. Materials can also be repeatedly transferred from mobile conveyors to the job site and vice versa.

Quality control and inspection are the most important things in factory design. Automation plays a vital role in mass production of a product, machining operations decide the machining sequence. Machines designed to produce a particular product are called transfer machines. Conveyor Automation is a specialized activity for a modern manufacturing concern. It is estimated that around 60-70% of the production cost is spent on material transfer activities.

  • LIMITATIONS

    During work, compressed air (for drilling operation) produces noise, so a silencer can be used.

    Conveyor Feed has wide application in low-cost automation industries. Can be used in

    automated assembly lines to transport the finished product from the workstation and place it into boxes.

    It can also be used to collect raw materials and place them on conveyor belts.

    • Improper material removal operation: –
    This unit can also be used on inappropriate material collected in a collection box. Solenoid operated pneumatic cylinder is used for this mechanism.
