The world of construction is changing: In infrastructure projects such as bridges, stations and administrative buildings as well as sports halls, flexible steel construction, high-rise structures and energy efficient facade systems are increasingly in high demand. .
In addition to the pure function of attractive design and economic aspects, today's buildings and construction products must also meet the requirements of sustainable construction.Low demand for raw materials, energy-saving production, environmental and social compatibility in construction and operation, as well as long low maintenance cycles are the determining factors in planning.Steel is a versatile material that meets these requirements in a special way.Its areas of application are constantly being expanded with optimized steel grades, innovative products and the advantages of a durable and fully recyclable building material.
STEEL FOR A MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE
An efficient transport infrastructure is indispensable for a highly developed economy. For industry and commerce, the quality of transport with efficient bridges and junctions is an extremely useful location factor, but road bridges in particular are increasingly becoming a bottleneck after decades of inadequate investment in maintenance and new construction. . Significant restrictions on private transport, but especially for the regional economy, are being seen as a result.
The renovation and replacement of damaged bridge structures is currently being pushed by policy with great financial commitment and will remain a central task of transport policy for the foreseeable future. Steel road, pedestrian and cycle bridges offer innovative and easy-to-implement solutions. Thanks to the efficient use of materials, a high level of prefabrication and long in-use maintenance cycles, they are extremely cost-effective, durable and sustainable. Economic costs are kept to a minimum.
We manufacture foundation structures for Bridges and Viaducts such as Metal Jackets and Tubes.
ENERGY EFFICIENT FACADES THANKS TO STEEL
Building facades assume different functions in commercial constructions and modern buildings. In addition to the design aspects, these are the building's physics requirements for heat, humidity, and sound insulation. In addition, roofs and facades must be designed to be permanently airtight.
We supply Galvalume and Galvanized material widely used in civil construction on facades and roofs.
The building materials industry offers steel product solutions and systems that have been continuously optimized in recent years. They therefore meet growing energy requirements, in particular with regard to achieving climate goals in a special way. In addition, the lightweight, easy-to-assemble, durable and low-maintenance components ensure a high degree of cost-effectiveness and characterize an extremely sustainable design.
High-quality corrosion protection geared to the respective application guarantees the durability of the components. The process of coating coils of galvanized steel sheet , so-called coil coating, offers long-lasting coatings in many shades of color. At the end of their long service life, steel facades can be easily dismantled and recycled without loss of quality - a permanent material cycle.
USE OF LIGHT STEEL IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
A significant part of the construction work in Brazil is now in the immense amount of old buildings. To meet the huge demand for affordable housing in urban areas, this often makes sense. If land is no longer available due to dense development, existing buildings represent the remaining "building land".
Less viable old buildings or unfavorable subsurface conditions require lightweight construction methods, which nevertheless have high stability. Lightweight, load-bearing steel structures are particularly suitable for roof extensions, annexes, conversions and building extensions. Its structures have a framework of thin-walled, cold-formed steel sections that are joined together to form lightweight yet extremely strong frames and beams. With proper application and installation of efficient thermal insulation, such constructions meet all requirements for material and energy efficient construction.
IRON-CARBON ALLOY
Carbon steels are mainly iron-carbon alloys containing generally limited additions of manganese and phosphorus that serve as deoxidizers in addition to some traces of residual elements such as sulfur and phosphorus. Depending on the carbon content, we find:
- Soft or low carbon steels (˂0.20% C) used as basic materials for general construction, pipes, tanks, agricultural equipment, etc.
- Medium carbon steels (0.30 to 0.50% C) for mechanical parts such as gears and mechanical shafts
- High carbon steels (0.60 to 0.80% C) used for saw blades, train tracks, etc.
