Timken Tapered Roller Bearing Nomenclature
Part numbering systems for single row radial tapered roller bearings (type TS) are internationally recognized. Several part numbering systems have been developed and can be classified according to either metric or inch systems. Inch system bearings are typically assigned individual part numbers for the inner ring and outer ring, while ISO (metric) bearings are assigned a unique part number for the entire bearing group, which includes the inner ring and outer ring. .
In all part numbering systems, the term bearing series is used to describe bearings with the same basic internal geometry (e.g. roller dimensions, inner ring and outer ring angles). Any inner ring (including roller set) can be combined with any outer ring of the same series, as long as the same type of bearing is used.
