SYNOPSIS

The can crushing process is an important part of waste collection industries. Typically, can crusher machine is manually operated for waste collection industries. Our project includes the “Pneumatic Can Crusher”.

Automation in the modern world is inevitable. Any automatic machine intended for the economic use of man, machine and material is worth more. In our project, pneumatic actuator and control valve unit for automation are used.

The can crusher works with the aid of a single-acting pneumatic cylinder. The piston is connected to the movable and pressing die arrangement. It is used to press cans of cold drinks. The machine is portable and easy to carry.

This describes the design of various components of the plastic can or bottle crushing machine. This machine is widely used in beverage industries or in scrap metal to reduce the volume of cans/bottles. Hence, in this project multiple parts are required and the design of multiple parts due to which the design quality of these parts will be improved. There are so many researchers who have also worked on design and analysis, but there are still many areas of scope regarding this design. Overall, this project involves processes like designing, manufacturing, and assembling different components, etc. After the entire process is completed, this crusher can help us understand the manufacturing and design involved in this project.

In this case, some crushing force is required to crush the cans/bottles to reduce their volume to a large extent. The design is done in such a way that the knowledge of design, mechanism and forces is increased. This project consists of the design and manufacture of an automatic can crusher considering several important parameters. In this project, development of a can/bottle crusher for trash can so that the can can be crushed as flat and looks as symmetrical as possible and inserted into the trash can. Just as the study of manufacturing was very important for carrying out this project to ensure what needed to be done. This project involves the design process of the different parts of this jackhammer considering forces and ergonomic factors for use by people. This project is mainly about generating a new concept of can/bottle crusher that would make it easier to take anywhere and crush the can or bottle. After the design was completed, it was transformed into its actual product where the design is used as guidance.

Crusher

A crusher is a machine designed to reduce large objects of solid material into a smaller volume or smaller pieces. Crushers can be used to reduce the size, or change the shape, of waste materials so that they can be more easily disposed of or recycled, or to reduce the size of a solid mixture of raw materials (as in rock ore) , so that pieces of different composition can be differentiated.

  • WORKING PRINCIPLE

    Compressed air from the compressor is used as the power medium for this operation. A single-acting pneumatic cylinder, control valve and compressed air are used. The compressor arm enters the control valve. Controlled air from the control valve enters the Pneumatic Actuator. In one position the air enters the cylinder and pushes the piston, so that the can crushing stroke is obtained.

    The next control valley is opened and then returns to the exhaust air of the single-acting pneumatic cylinder so that the cylinder piston returns.
