JCB MACHINE WITH HYDRAULIC CONTROL – Mechanical Project

JCB MACHINE WITH HYDRAULIC CONTROL – Mechanical Project

SYNOPSIS

JCB machine is a type of crane that contains a horizontal member called arm, moving unit and mounted pillar. JCB machines are used in industrial applications as well as construction purposes. It can be mounted on the top of the floor and is used to lift heavy loads from one place to another in industries. This hydraulic cylinder arrangement system has higher strength than pneumatic arrangement.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

This arrangement contains DC motor, hydraulic jack, crane and worm gear arrangement. The piston rod inside the hydraulic jack acts when the pump is turned on. Then the hydraulic cylinder acts with the help of fluid pressure. A helical gear arrangement is coupled at the shaft end of the DC motor. The gear arrangement is coupled to another vertical shaft which is mounted on the base frame with the help of a bearing for smooth rotary movement. This is also useful for operating in other directions. When the hydraulic jack placed on the vehicle as shown in the figure is activated, the height of the arm can be adjusted. The crane hook is fixed at the end of the arm.

But the construction of this system is more difficult than other system and the main disadvantage of the system is fluid leakage which affects the working efficiency. The hydraulic fluid must be stored inside the tank that must be attached to the unit.

BENEFITS

  • Less coefficient of friction
  • More efficient
  • Energy can be easily transmitted
  • Portable
  • DISADVANTAGES

  • A lot of storage space is needed.
  • Difficult to build.
  • APPLICATION

It is applicable in small and large scale industries and construction applications.
