Define Hardware in the CAD system

It is used to describe physical equipment (electronic circuits) and its peripherals (mouse, printer). The term “hardware” is used to encompass all equipment used to implement computer programs. This includes the computer with its memory and CPU, means of storing programs on disk or magnetic tape, display screens, various devices for entering instructions into the computer, i.e. keyboards, etc. and output devices that can provide “hard copy,” i.e., printers and plotters. Hardware consists of graphics workstations, graphics input and output devices. Computer software includes: the operating system that controls basic computer maintenance operations, software packages used for geometric modeling, and application software for design analysis and synthesis.

Input Devices:

Keyboard :

The computer keyboard is used to enter text information into the computer, such as when you type the contents of a report. The keyboard can also be used to enter commands that direct the computer to perform certain actions.

Keyboard:

Most laptops today have a touch pad pointing device. You move the cursor on the screen by sliding your finger along the keyboard surface.

Digitizer:

Digitizer is defined as a device for converting analog signals into digital signals or for converting data into digital form for use in a computer. It is a term used by American-speaking countries and used mainly by physicists.

Trackball:

The trackball is like an upside-down mouse, with the ball located on top. You use your fingers to roll the trackball and the internal rollers detect the movement which is transmitted to the computer.

Video game control:

Joysticks and other game controllers can also be connected to a computer as pointing devices. They are generally used for playing games and not for controlling the on-screen cursor in productivity software.

Board:

A tablet consists of an electronic writing area and a special “stylus” that works with it. Graphics tablets allow artists to create graphic images with movements and actions similar to more traditional drawing tools.

Mouse:

The mouse pointing device sits on the work surface and is moved by hand. In mice, a ball at the bottom of the mouse rolls on the surface as you move the mouse, and internal rollers detect the ball's movement and transmit the information to the computer via the mouse cable.

Optical Mouse:

A wireless or wireless mouse communicates with your computer using radio waves.

Output Devices:

Monitor:

The monitor commonly called Visual Display Unit (VDU) is the main output device of a computer. It forms images from small dots, called pixels, arranged in a rectangular shape. The sharpness of the image depends on the number of pixels.

Printers:

Printer is the most important output device used to print information on paper.

Speakers:

Computer speakers, or multimedia speakers, are speakers external to a computer, which disable the built-in low-fidelity speaker.

Projector:

An output device that can capture a computer screen and project a large version of it onto a flat surface. Projectors are often used in meetings and presentations to help ensure everyone in the room can see the presentation
