É possível instalar um parafuso lag em concreto?

Is it possible to install a lag screw in concrete?

The short answer is yes! It is possible to install locking screw in concrete. Installing a anchor bolt in concrete is not a difficult process, but it does require an anchor to install correctly.

Compression Screw and Lag Protection

Lag shields are concrete anchors that expand near the bottom to hold the shield within a drilled hole. They are made specifically for installing screws into masonry materials.

To install a lag guard in concrete, first drill a hole the same diameter as the outside diameter of the lag guard. Before drilling, you will also need to measure the length of the lag guard and drill the length plus some extra space.

Then take a hammer and tap the delay guard into the hole you drilled until it is flush with the surface. Since the hole is the same size as the outside diameter, this should create a snug fit for the anchor.

Installing a Locking Screw in Wood

So make sure you have a long enough screw for installation. For example, if you want to install a 2 x 4 into your lag protector, you need to make sure the lag screw has 1-1/2″ of clearance and about another 1″ to 1-1/2″ of installation in the shield. This means you would need approximately one 3″ screw to complete this installation.

Once you have the correct locking screw, start attaching it to the installed shield. This will push the lag guard into the hole, creating a strong hold to hold the installation in place.
