Abstract

The aim of this article is to obtain that farm mechanism induction is very crucial for better agricultural production. Since the Green Revolution, India has been trying to modernize its agricultural equipment but has failed many times. As an engineer, our main duty is to serve our country and help it in its rise.

In this project, rubber extraction is mechanized as it is rigorous and very difficult work. Our project can be used to extract rubber latex from a large number of trees with great ease. It would help in reducing labor and would help in the self-confidence of plantation owners for extraction. It is a machine that works like a slider attached to a rotating tool to cut the cambium layer of the rubber tree.

The slider is guided around the tree with the help of the guide. It would help labor to avoid back pain and other physical problems. It consists of a cordless drill with a modified tool that can be operated simply by hand and with the help of guides.

INTRODUCTION

In India, there is a demand for rubber as it is used in manufacturing products like tires, inner tubes, etc. Rubber is harvested from the latex of rubber trees through a processing process. It is then vulcanized with sulfur to obtain vulcanized rubber that is used in the tire manufacturing industry. Through a process called “rubber extraction”, we obtain rubber latex from the tree. Here a helical cut is made in the tree, approximately one and a half meters from the ground and encircling approximately half of the tree. Every day, workers scrape off the hardened latex and a thin layer of bark early in the morning. The latex flows through the spiral into a glass for 2 hours before the sap hardens and seals the cut in the tree.

Currently the main problem that the rubber industry faces is the depreciation of the price of rubber and also the lack of qualified workers. When bleeding rubber trees, care must be taken to avoid damaging the tree during bleeding. Workers are trained for six months before learning the proper technique, and improper logging can kill many valuable trees. The rubber extraction process is also physically exhausting work. Improving this process would save the cost of labor required for threading. To improve this process we have developed a new threading tool. A more economical design reduces worker fatigue. Through it all, the design is kept simple to maintain high reliability and low cost.

  • It is similar to the nut and bolt mechanism.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

It is a machine designed to obtain latex from the cambial layer of the rubber tree. The main process that happens here is that the tool is guided along the bark of the tree with the help of a guide. The tool is installed on the slider. The slider rests on the guide. The guide shape plays a crucial role in the machine.

WORK PROCESS

The machine has a screw clamping mechanism to fix the machine to the tree. After fixing, the rubber bushing prevents damage to the tree bark. Then the slider is guided by the guide to the location where the tapping activity will be performed. The depth of the cut into the bark can be controlled manually. The cutting tool rotates in a circular motion leading to the beating or cutting of the shell. The tool receives a force of 5 N/mm.
