Como escolher uma fábrica CNC para o projeto do seu protótipo

How to Choose a CNC Factory for Your Prototype Project

CNC Factory

If good design doesn't mean success, finding a good CNC factory is just one step away from success. I have a great design that I really want to make happen. What is the next step? Find a CNC factory.

Be clear about your needs when looking for a CNC factory

Analyze your needs and try different methods to find the CNC factory that best suits your project. Before starting this phase, you need to create a 2D and 3D drawing of your project. Tolerances, materials, surface finish and the visual characteristics of your project can be represented on the drawing. To make your project run more smoothly, it is recommended to identify the most critical tolerances.

The four suggestions for choosing the right CNC factory

1. Is there a qualification certificate?

I don't think you would choose a small workshop to produce the project, as they may not have even the most basic business license, let alone some qualification certificates. Therefore, the company's qualification is also one of the benchmarks. For example, some models of manual panels for special industrial production may also need certification to guarantee service and production and provide us with professional design.

2. Pay attention to setup time, size

The factory's long operating time means it is experienced and has its own solutions for unexpected situations. Furthermore, the factory size can be selected according to your need situation. If your project needs to be ready immediately and time is very short, at this time a large CNC factory is a more reasonable choice for you because its technical equipment is more advanced and complete. CNC machine parts production takes less time than other factories. Small craft factories often have fewer employees and delivery is difficult to guarantee. Therefore, the final delivery time should be controlled according to your own research and development progress.

3. Pay attention to technicians and equipment

Technical equipment and qualified personnel are important for a CNC factory and directly determine whether it works well or not. For example, a CNC factory has CNC machining, 3D printing processes (SLA and SLS), vacuum injection molding, molds, etc. If you need to make a large part, it is better to use CNC machining because the cost of a CNC model hand based on material cost, CNC labor hour cost and surface treatment cost together. If it is a small part with complex structure, computer coding takes a long time and the manual panel cost is difficult to reduce. However, if done via SLA (3D printing process) for small and light products, the production cost may be lower.

4. What projects is CNC Factory suitable for? Does it meet your needs?

For example, I want to make a transparent trophy with an internal cavity. The size is not big enough for this fancy design. Mainly the inner cavity needs to be disassembled after assembly and gluing. This time, CNC machining is obviously not suitable. Due to the size and surface properties of the structure, the SLA process is more suitable. The entire process starts with the material and process to find the ideal solution for the project. Typically, a small prototype factory cannot meet the transparency and internal cavity requirements. Once you clarify your needs, you can look for manufacturers who are good at these processes.

How to handle complaints about CNC factories?

It's not a bad thing to make a mistake. It's terrible not to correct the error in time. Even an excellent CNC machining factory will have customer complaints, but only a truly excellent CNC machining factory will pay attention to customer complaints and comments. Part of the motivation to move forward with a CNC factory comes from customer feedback. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing a responsible CNC factory.
