Calculate plate weight

What is plaque?

A steel plate is a plate-shaped steel material formed by casting molten steel and pressing it after cooling.

Types of steel sheet

Steel sheets are classified based on their thickness, with thin steel sheets being less than 4 mm (the thinnest being 0.2 mm), medium-thick steel sheets being 4 to 60 mm, and steel sheets being extra thick measuring 60 to 115 mm. They can also be divided into hot-rolled steel sheets and cold-rolled steel sheets based on the rolling process.

The width of thin sheets varies from 500 to 1,500 mm and the thickness varies from 600 to 3,000 mm. Thin plates can be divided into several types, including common steel, high-grade steel, alloy steel, spring steel, stainless steel, tool steel, heat-resistant steel, bearing steel, silicon steel and industrial thin plates. pure iron.

In terms of professional use, there are oil barrel plates, enamel plates, bulletproof plates, etc. The surface coating of plates can also vary, including galvanized sheets, tin-plated sheets, lead-plated sheets, plastic composite sheets, etc.

Calculate sheet weight

In accordance with the “Dimensions, shape, weight and permissible deviation of hot-rolled steel sheets and strip” (GB/T 709-2006) and “Dimensions, shape, weight and permissible deviation of cold-rolled steel sheets and strip ” (GB/T 708- 2006), the theoretical weight calculation method for both hot-rolled steel sheets and strips and cold-rolled steel sheets and strips is the same.

How to calculate:

Body Mass Index – BMI = Mass (kg) ÷ Height (m)² .

In the market, steel sheets can be delivered based on theoretical weight or actual weight, while steel strips are generally delivered based on actual quantity. When the steel plate is delivered based on its theoretical weight, the density of carbon steel is 7.85 g/m 3 and the densities of other types of steel are specified in the corresponding standards.
