Calculate square bar weight

What is a square bar?

Square steel refers to square solid steel. Similar bars are round steel, hexagonal steel and octagonal steel.

To calculate the weight of a square steel bar, you can use the formula:

𝑃 = 𝐿 two × Spec Weight ı ˊ I am

Where:

  • 𝑃 is the weight of the bar in kg;
  • 𝐿 is the side length of the bar in meters;
  • The specific weight of steel is approximately 7850 kg/m³.

For example, if we have a square bar with a side length of 100 mm (0.1 m), the calculation would be:

𝑃 = ( 0 , 1 ) two × 7850

𝑃 = 0 , 01 × 7850

𝑃 = 78 , 5 kg

Therefore, the weight of the square steel bar with a side length of 100 mm would be approximately 78.5 kg.
