I. What is equal angle steel bar?
Unequal angle steel is a long strip of steel with an L-shaped cross section, with both sides perpendicular to each other and forming an angle of varying widths. Specifications are expressed in millimeters of long side width, short side width and side thickness. For example, “L30*20*3” refers to unequal steel angles with a long side width of 30mm, a short side width of 20mm and a side thickness of 3mm.
It can also be expressed by a model number, which is expressed as a fraction. The numerator represents the centimeters of the width of the long side, while the denominator represents the centimeters of the width of the short side. For example, “L3/2#” means that the long side is 3 centimeters and the short side is 2 centimeters.
The specification range for steel with unequal angles is 2.5/1.6# to 20/12.5#.
II. Calculate Equal Angle Bar Weight
According to the dimension, shape, weight and allowable deviation of the hot-rolled steel section (GB/T 706-2008), the length of a hot-rolled equal-angle steel bar is normally 4m to 19m. Equal angle steel bar can generally be delivered based on actual weight or theoretical market weight.
The deviation between the theoretical weight and the actual weight of an equal-angle steel bar should not exceed -5% to 3%. You can use the equal angle steel bar weight calculator to calculate its weight.
