What is steel T beam?
T-shaped steel is a type of steel cast in the shape of a T. It is so named because its section is the same as the letter 'T' in English.
T-shaped steel type
There are two types of T-shaped steel:
- It is divided directly from H-shaped steel. The standard for T-shaped steel is the same as that for H-shaped steel (GB/t 11263-2017). It is an ideal material to replace double angle steel welding. It has the advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving and light structure.
- Hot-rolled and once-formed T-shaped steel is mainly used in machinery and hardware. The code for T-shaped steel corresponds to H-shaped steel, and TW, TM, and TN are used, respectively, to represent wide-flange T-shaped steel, mid-flange T-shaped steel, and narrow flange tee.
