SNL series bearing blocks, the best rolling bearings

snl skf supports

SNL series bearing housings up to size 32 are the most popular in SKF's extensive housing range. Due to their versatility, it is rarely necessary to resort to custom boxes for specific applications. The boxes are divided horizontally and have two or four fixing holes in the base as standard.

Building Block System

The basis of the SNL hydraulic block housing system consists of several housings of the same design but different sizes. By combining these housings with different standard seals, a wide variety of housing variants can be supplied, all belonging to the standard range. SNL blocks can accommodate shaft diameters between 20 and 160 mm.

Reinforced base

The case base is reinforced with ribs and extra material around the mounting screw holes to improve seating on the base plate.

The fixing screws can be preloaded to provide better positioning and cannot deform the base or box hole.

Fixing

SNL boxes have two mounting screw holes in the original base. Bearing sizes 511-609 and larger are also available with four cast retainer bolt holes, designated FSNL. These larger boxes are also available without mounting screw holes (hollow base, designated SSNLD), but are made of ductile iron only.

Additionally, housings smaller than 511-609 can be used for four-screw mounting. The template directions show where to drill additional holes.

Good heat conduction

The extra ribs of the case base provide additional surface area between the base and base plate to improve heat flow away from the pad.

Relubrication system

SNL boxes are supplied with a grease fitting. Two threaded fitting holes in the lid are standard. Casting markings indicate other grease fitting locations for relubricating bearings or seals.

Individually marked lids and bases

The housing base and cover are matched during manufacturing and are not interchangeable. To avoid mixing, the same consecutive number is marked on the lid and base of each individual wrapper.

Assembly help

To simplify assembly and make alignment more accurate, casting markings on the end faces of the case base indicate the case hole axis and vertical axis.

Assembly instructions are also provided with each housing.

Hole indications to accommodate other components

Casting markings indicate locations where you can drill holes for dowel pins, condition monitoring sensors, and additional grease fittings.
