Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh Panels, Sheets and Rolls for Fence
Galvanized welded wire mesh panels or sheets are made by welding pre-galvanized steel wire by an electric welding machine or by welding plain steel wire into mesh and then galvanizing as a whole. Galvanized welded wire mesh rolls are versatile metal products widely used in industrial and commercial fields, civil construction, roads and public facilities, agricultural fencing, etc.
Galvanizing, a surface treatment process to prevent rust, is a relatively inexpensive surface protection method that can be done before or after wire mesh fabrication. The stainless steel welding mesh itself has excellent rust resistance, so no additional surface treatment is required, and the surface can remain shiny for a long time even in a humid and uncontaminated environment. Galvanized welding mesh sheets or panels will lose surface luster after a period of use, and once damaged, the galvanized layer will lose surface protection and begin to rust.
Types of galvanized welded wire mesh rolls and panels
There are two processing methods of galvanized welded wire mesh panels, one is galvanized before welding and the other is galvanized after welding.
Galvanized before welding means that the wire used to make the wire mesh itself has been galvanized before the wire mesh is welded. The advantage of this manufacturing method is that it is cheaper; The disadvantage is that the zinc layer is destroyed by welding the intersection of each horizontal and vertical wire, thus reducing the overall corrosion resistance (rust starts at the intersection, and over time the welding joints crack due to corrosion).
Galvanized after welding refers to welding the non-galvanized steel wire first into a wire mesh and then placing it in a bath of molten zinc to galvanize it as a whole. The advantage of this method is that the entire surface of the wire mesh, including the welding joints at the intersection, is covered with a layer of zinc, so the overall corrosion resistance is better. The downside is that the price is more expensive than the previous one.
