Properties of T10 tool steel
T10 steel is the most common carbon tool steel in China, with moderate toughness and low production cost. After heat treatment, the hardness of the material can reach above 60 HRC. However, this steel has low hardenability and low heat resistance (250°C). It is not easy to overheat and still maintain fine grains. The toughness is acceptable, the strength and wear resistance are higher than T7 T8 and T9, but the hot hardness is low, the hardenability is still not high, and the quenching deformation is large.

Mechanical properties of T10 tool steel
- Material hardness: ≤197 HBW (annealing); ≤241 (cold drawing after annealing)
- Material hardness: ≥ 62 HRC (sample quenching, 760 – 780°C, water)
Applications of T10 material
T10 steel is widely used in the manufacture of tools with poor cutting conditions, high wear resistance and no sudden and severe impact vibration, but it also requires certain toughness and sharp edges, such as turning tools and flat milling cutters, drills, taps, reaming tools, screw dies, milling cutters, hand saw blades. It can also make cold dies, stamping dies, drawing dies, cold extrusion dies for aluminum alloy, plastic molding dies, small size cold cutting dies and punching dies, low precision and simple measurement (like card). It can also be used as a wear-resistant part that is not subject to heavy impacts.
Delivery status: The steel is delivered annealed, and can also be delivered without annealing by agreement between the two parties.
