(20Cr13) 2Cr13 stainless steel equivalent, properties and chemical composition

Introduction to 2Cr13 stainless steel

Chinese Steel 2Cr13 (20Cr13) is a martensitic stainless steel with magnetic properties, good corrosion resistance and high hardness in the quenched state. 2Cr13 stainless steel is used in a wide range of applications, such as cutting tools, surgical tools and steam turbine blades, the material density is 7.75g/cm3, 2Cr13 is an old representation, the new representation is 20Cr13.

20Cr13 steel grade designation = 2Cr13 stainless steel

  • 20 (or 2) – Average carbon content: 20/10,000 (0.2%), the old designation is 2/1,000
  • Cr – chrome symbol
  • 13 – Average chromium content: 13%
