Carbon steel is divided into low - carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel, depending on the amount of carbon

The addition of other alloying elements to steel is called "alloy steel".

The purpose of the steel industry is to meet the production needs.

Low Carbon Steel: typically contains 0.04% to 0.30% carbon content. This is one of the largest groups of carbon steel. Encompasses a wide variety of forms; steel sheet structural beam. Depending on the properties desired, the other components are added or increased. For example, drawing quality (DQ) - The carbon level is kept low, aluminum is added, and structural steel for the carbon level is higher and the manganese content is increased.

Steel Medium Carbon: Typically has a carbon range of 0.31% to 0.60% and a manganese content ranging from 0.060% to 1.65%. This product is stronger than the low carbon steel, it is more difficult to form, welding and cutting. Medium carbon steels are often hardened and tempered using heat treatment.

Steel High Carbon: Commonly known as "tool steel", he usually has a carbon range between 0.61% and 1.50%. High carbon steel is very difficult to cut, bend and weld. Once heat treated, it becomes extremely hard and brittle.

Stainless steel is a steel alloy with improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel / alloy. Common ingredients include chrome alloy (usually at least 11%), nickel or molybdenum. The alloy content is generally of the order of 15 to 30%.

Common applications include handling / food processing, medical instruments, electrical, structural and architectural uses.

Stainless steel is a type of steel alloy, adding more elements C, Ni and other metallic alloying elements.

The common stainless steel is divided into two types: ferritic and austenitic stainless steel.

The ferritic stainless steel is a mesh centered with magnetic properties. For example, 1Ci13 and 2Ci13. are often used for tableware and decorations.

The austenitic stainless steel is a mesh centered on the face without magnetism. For example, 1Ci18Ne9T is used in the chemical industry, medicine and food industry.

If someone say that uses a magnet to distinguish stainless steel, this is not true.
